24th August 2017, Dubai: Maha from ExpatWoman and her son Issam visited our Specialist Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Mai Kamar at Dr. Michael's Children's Dental Center.
Here are a few snippets from her review.
We all know how tedious it can be to persuade our kids to go to the dentist. I recently took my son Issam, aged 11, for his dental check-up at Dr. Michael's Children's Dental Center. To our joy, Issam absolutely loved the experience and it was hard to get him to leave! Dr. Michael’s Children’s Dental Centre has a dedicated building for children and is conveniently located along Al Wasl Road, Umm Suqeim.
When we arrived at the clinic for our appointment we were immediately greeted by Winlove at the reception desk, who shook hands with my son and made him feel right at home. The lighting, interiors, and atmosphere at the reception felt so calm and relaxing. While I was busy filling up the required details, my son Issam immediately got occupied with the books laid out at the reception area. There was even an iPad for him to play with and he enjoyed looking at the exotic fish in the colorful aquarium.
Within a few minutes, we were greeted by Ms. Sherin, the dental nurse, who took us into the dental room to meet with Dr. Mai Kamar, the Specialist Pediatric Dentist. Issam was loving the massive TV screen on top of the dental chair. He was busy choosing a movie! Dr. Mai asked Issam some preliminary questions about his teeth brushing habits. She was very calm and friendly, which made Issam feel comfortable right away.
Dr. Mai applied a disclosing tablet which is a bright red dye, to show Issam where the plaque had collected on his teeth. She then demonstrated brushing techniques on a tooth model to explain how most kids miss brushing their teeth properly. It should ideally be a circular massage on two teeth at a time. It’s important to count to ten, ensuring that enough time is spent on brushing the teeth. Dr. Mai also explained to Issam how important it is not to miss the top portion of the inside surface of the teeth and that we have five surfaces to work on cleaning properly at the back of the teeth, as well as four surfaces to brush at the front of the teeth.
It was concluded that if Issam takes good care of brushing his teeth, the way she showed him, then he can avoid future cavities.
If you’re looking for an attentive and dedicated pediatric dentist in Dubai, then I’d highly recommend booking an appointment with Dr. Mai Kamar or any of the other specialist pediatric dentists within Dr. Michael’s Children’s Dental Center.
We’d like to thank Maha and her son Issam and we hope to see them again soon.
