In this age of robotics, glow-in-the-dark puppies and talking toothbrushes, it’s surprising that there are still people who think dentists are scary. Amused at the thought, Dr. Omar Al-Daoudi, our Specialist Prosthodontist, says “No, we are not!”
Dentistry as we know it has changed and evolved into something more than just tooth extractions, dentures and drills.
“Modern dentistry is intellectually challenging. It is most rewarding when we make a tremendous difference in a patient’s life by providing him with the smile that he always desired, by making difference in patients’ healthcare,” says Dr. Omar.
When asked what influenced him into specializing in prosthodontics, he said “Prosthodontics is an art, we design, build and rehabilitate. (This is) where the dentist becomes an architect of beautiful smiles and excellent dental condition.”

Dr. Omar joins Dr. Michael’s team with an extensive experience in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, as well as esthetic, functional and prosthetic rehabilitation. The average number of patients comes to him for veneers, crowns and bridges.
In November 2012, Dr. Omar gave in to the irresistible magic, modernization and diversity of Dubai and finally settled in the emirates with his wife and son. When he’s not in the clinic, he spends a lot of time with his family, travelling or trying out different places to enjoy his favorite oriental and French cuisines. Dr. Omar also enjoys going to his fitness center or taking a walk in the beach after a long day at work.
He considers The Montgomerie Dubai and Montgomery Golf Club among the best places he’s been to in the country. He would also love to visit China, Maldives and South Africa in the future.
To end the interview, we asked him a rather off-topic question. What would you do if you have the power to change the world? To that he answered, “I will guarantee access to education to everyone to ensure equal chances.”
