Living in Dubai since 2009, Dr. Margarida has over 16 years of experience as a General Dentist attending to patients with a highly professional and ethical Having graduated with an Honours degree from the University of Lisbon, Portugal, in 2005, she then completed a one-year full-time post-graduate in Periodontics and Implants and further consolidated her experience with the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, UAE along in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with another advanced implant surgery course.
A strong believer in evidence-based dentistry, Dr. Margarida seeks to continually update her knowledge to perfect her skills. Throughout her career, she has attended multiple courses in various fields of dentistry, in the UAE and internationally. Namely in cosmetic dentistry, she implements Digital Smile Design and has a postgraduate course in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry with Tipton Academy.
Being a family dentist, Dr. Margarida particularly enjoys seeing children to set a good base for the future. Treating them in a very gentle manner, she finds that positive first experiences have a beneficial influence on their perception of dental treatment throughout their adult lives.
“My aim is to work in the most biological and conservative way after having established the proper diagnosis. Therefore, when I propose a treatment plan, I always follow the family rule: “Would I do this to my children, siblings or parents?” “My ultimate goal is to provide my patients with a healthy oral function while providing a natural, beautiful and facially integrated smile.”
Dr Margarida believes that as dentists they don’t save lives but by giving new smiles, they often transform lives. She has always enjoyed working with her hands and in dentistry, she found a purpose for this passion. She also loves to revisit her patients often.
