Dr. Michael Formenius is an internationally acclaimed cosmetic dentist and one of the most published exemplars in dental media. An expert in all facets of dentistry with over 40 years of private practice, Dr. Michael is an authority among his peers when it comes to cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Michael graduated from the Royal Dental College, Karolinska Institute in 1982 and went on to building the first of his many private practices in Stockholm in the same year. He then established a private dental laboratory and pioneered the brand ‘Dr. Michael’s – Your Reason to Smile’ with the top fifteen dentists and seven dental technicians in Sweden.
He graduated with a Masters of Excellence in Facial Aesthetic Design from the prestigious Rosenthal Institute of Aesthetic Dentistry in New York.
He is deeply committed to staying on the leading edge of dental technology and therefore considers continuing education and hands-on training top of his priority.
Dr. Michael holds active professional memberships in the Swedish Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and Emirates Medical Association.
DR.MICHAEL'S DENTAL CLINIC
After more than fourteen years of distinguished practice in Sweden, Dr. Michael brought his expertise to the UAE. He opened the first Dr. Michael’s Dental Clinic in Jumeirah in 1997 and brought the first mobile dental clinic in the region.
He and his team provided oral health education and preventative services to over 20,000 school children across 60 nurseries and primary schools in Dubai. This program was wholly sponsored by Dr. Michael’s Dental Clinic, free of charge to participating schoolchildren, teachers and parents.
In 2011, Dr. Michael was made the Dental Consultant for Oral-B Crest Middle East. Dr. Michael now operates two multispecialty state-of-the-art dental clinics, a specialized pediatric center, an orthodontic dental practice and an inhouse dental laboratory all located in Dubai.
Service above self
A Rotarian since 1993, he lives by the principle ‘Service above Self’ and has worked tremendously in giving back to the community. He supports various charities in the UAE and around the world, especially those that look after the interest of children’s and women’s rights.
