Up Close & Personal with Dr. Maryam Rezaeianjam

What do you like most about your job?

Since art was always one of my passions in life, dentistry enables me to combine art and science to create the ultimate masterpiece for my patients which is their smile. A smile which makes them confident enough to never second guess laughing from their heart again!

How do you see the future of dentistry?

I feel that in the near future dentistry will move mostly from treatment to prevention as people are taking better care of their oral health. Moreover, the fast growing world of technology will definitely bring us more magical tools and materials that would take dentistry to the next level from what we’re practicing now.

What are your hobbies? What do you like to do outside of your work?

Being an art enthusiast, I enjoy freehand sketches and photography. Playing the piano, yoga and meditation are also among my other hobbies. I also enjoy reading the world’s most recent dental studies and papers in order to learn more about the latest evidence and guidance. I enjoy writing as well, and am currently waiting for my book in “Applications of Laser in Dentistry” to be published. This is my first ever book and hopefully more coming in the future.

What is the best advice you can give to your patients?

Good oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist. These will keep them pain-free and help them maintain a healthy and brighter smile for a longer time.
