Dr. Mauricio is a licensed implantologist in Dubai, with both Periodontics and Implantology specialist degrees in Brazil. He has practiced exclusively in the surgical field since 2006 and has sought postgraduate education in the USA, Germany, France, and Hungary.

He graduated from dental school at the UNIPLAC-DF in Brasília-Brazil in 2004 and began his first specialty degree in Periodontics at the same institution. His Periodontics degree was concluded in 2006 and he started a full 2 years program in implantology in ABO-DF in Brazil.

Dr. Mauricio worked exclusively as a specialist since 2006 in his own clinic back in Brasilia, Brazil. He is a member of Brazilian Dental Association (ABO), Brazilian Periodontics Association (SOBRAPE) and International Team for Implantology (ITI).

Since he moved to Dubai in 2011, Dr. Mauricio kept himself updated with international courses in the USA (Team Atlanta - Dr. Maurice Salama), Germany (Steigmann Institut - Dr. Marius Steigmann), and Hungary (Urban regeneration institute - Dr. Istvan Urban) with one of the most prestigious oral surgeons in the world.

Dr. Mauricio provides his expertise in most surgical dental procedures such as surgical extractions, removal of impacted wisdom teeth, removal or surgical exposure of other impacted teeth, surgical insertion of orthodontic bone-anchored appliances, periodontal surgical procedures, crown lengthening treatment for gummy smile, gingival grafts for root exposures, dental implant installations with necessary prior bone grafts and sinus lifts.

He also performs implant installations with immediate loading protocols, from single unit cases up to full mouth rehabilitation with all-on-4 and all-on-6. He provides his treatment with the latest techniques and technologies such as L-PRF protocols and 3D fully guided implant installation.

Dr. Mauricio is fluent in Portuguese and English.

What do you like most about your job?

What I like the most is the feeling of accomplishment. Being able to give a proper smile back to the patient and their self confidence is the best feeling for me.

How do you see the future of dentistry?

I see dentistry going further and further to a technological direction. Each year, we see more and more innovations using biotechnology, robotics, bioengineering and programming. The tendency is we are going to see an even much more technological dentistry in the near future.

What are your hobbies? What do you like to do outside work?

In my free time, I like to play my electric guitar and play videogames with my kids. I also enjoy working out with my wife every morning and exploring new places in Dubai with my family and friends.

What is the best advice you can give to your patients?

The best treatment is always prevention, so the patient must do his homework. Proper oral hygiene, always floss, and keep their routine check-ups.
