10 March 2015, Dubai, UAE: Dr. Michael’s Dental Clinic is proud to sponsor the Repton Falcons, a team of four Year 6 students who will represent the Repton School Dubai at the Yas Marina Circuit F1 in Schools Paper Cup Challenge on the 13th of June 2015.
Lella Halloum (10 y/o), Caitlin Edmonstone (11 y/o), Joshua Arbourne (10 y/o) and Joan Vidal (10 y/o) make up the Repton Falcons and were chosen for their skills in Science, Technology and Maths (STEM), Marketing & Sponsorship, Design & Engineering.
The Repton Falcons are set to compete with over 35 Primary Schools across the UAE for the Paper Cup Challenge, a competition that provides valuable cross curricular learning through design, construction and racing of a simple paper card model car.
Our team is 110% focused, passionate, committed and financially vested. We want Dr. Michael’s Dental Clinic to be as happy in this innovative challenge as we are.
The participants will design and make their own team branded personal model car body from paper card which they attach to a standard folded paper card chassis, complete with supplied wheels. The paper card is cut to shape with fold lines perforated by a special paper cutter, folded and tested ready for race day.
"We are proud to be students of Repton School Dubai. It is one of the most exciting and leading international educational communities in the world. Our school has been incredibly successful in the F1 in Schools Challenge for some years," says Lella, the team manager. "Just like our highly successful Repton predecessors, our team is 110% focused, passionate, committed and financially vested. We want Dr. Michael’s Dental Clinic to be as happy in this innovative challenge as we are."
Dr. Michael Formenius, CEO & Clinical Director of Dr. Michael’s Dental Clinic, has expressed his support for the Repton Falcons and said, "I strongly believe in empowering young minds through education and it is my pleasure to be able help the Repton Falcons soar high in the competition."
